ASDA Presentation

Asda Foundation has awarded Newmains Community Trust £11,020 for fitting out of the “Youth Space” and running youth focused session from the new community owned NCT Centre due to open shortly in Newmains.

Although this work is focused on young people it has a wider impact and benefits to the local communities.  Over the coming year there will be a programme of some 80 youth sessions delivered in partnership with Newmains Activity Group and as identified by the young people.

June Update

Staff and Volunteers

Information regarding paid staff posts is being finalised and will be widely advertised including in the office window.

As a community facility the Trust is looking for volunteers from the local communities who are interested in helping with day to day running of the NCT Centre. This will be a mix of roles from admin to catering, gardening to reception and can be from a few hours to a few days per week. Training will be provided free for volunteers.

May Update

Build Update

The build continues to progress with the hand over to the Trust at the end of June 2015 and the Trust hopes to begin activities from the NCT Centre in July with an
opening event (week) in August.

We will keep you updated on this and keep an eye on the office window.

Your NCT Centre

The NCT Centre is community owned and will be managed by Newmains community Trust on your behalf.
The following facilities will be available in the NCT Centre:

Toddlers Group Update

From the feedback received there does appear to be a need to operate some form of “Toddler’s Group” at the NCT Centre.

Requests were made for a mix of just tea and social, running a programme of activities for the toddlers combined with a programme of awareness and support for the adults.

For this to become a regular group we are looking for any local people who would be interested helping to run this group and if you can contact me (Sandy) direct I will then arrange another get together.

Now over to you

We are looking for your ideas for clubs, groups, activities and services YOU would like to see at the Centre.

If you don’t know what the Centre is all about, what will be in it or have ideas for the Centre then please email or drop into the office at 124 Manse Road.

The NCT Centre is a community owned building being managed by Newmains Community Trust on your behalf.

The Trust is looking for people from local communities who are interested in helping with the day to day running of the NCT Centre or, in preparation for the opening and, as potential new Board Members for it’s management.

For details or an informal chat please contact Sandy in the Trust Office.

Build Update

The build continues with the hand over date of 26th June 2015 and the Trust hopes to begin activities from the NCT Centre in July with an opening event in August. We will keep you updated on this.

Unfortunately, we have had unwanted visitors to the site with tools and equipment being stolen and some damage. This is your community centre and we would ask you to help us by keeping an eye out and reporting anything suspicious. But keep an eye out for the security and new cameras!
